Parking
Date: November 8, 2011
To: All Downs Grant Residents
From: Downs Grant Homeowners Association Board
We have received many complaints about parking in our neighborhood:
long term parking of commercial vehicles
vehicles parked in front yards and on the street facing the wrong direction
vehicles parked directly across from a driveway which makes it very difficult to back out
Street parking can create a safety hazard for pedestrians and may prevent access for fire trucks and other safety or utility vehicles- particularly when vehicles are parked on both sides of a street. Cars and trucks parked along the streets also detract from the appearance of our neighborhood.
There are stipulations in Article VI Section 8 of our CCRs that prohibit improper parking. If we have to have your vehicle towed, the cost will be assessed to your property. Also be aware that individuals responsible for an improperly parked vehicle may be liable for accidental damage.
We understand that short term visitors may need to park in the street. However all vehicles must be properly parked or we may have to have them towed. Commercial vehicles should not be parked on the street overnight. Also if possible, please locate vehicles within the street boundaries of each house away from neighboring driveways and try to avoid parking on both sides of the street.
Please contact us with any questions or comments.
